In Happiness Hill (Hill, G. L., 1932) during the drive to the beach cottage, the travelers enjoyed a picnic prepared by Jane and Betty Lou. It included ground meat sandwiches seasoned with onion, pickle and peppers. Other sandwiches had cheese, dates and nuts, with deviled eggs wrapped in lettuce leaves, frosted sponge cakes and cherry tartlets. Sherwood added grapes and peaches.
