make, give

My friend from college, Jenny has a mission which rescues orphaned and abandoned children in Kenya, Africa.  You can read all about it here.  She recently asked for donations to buy 100 blankets for the Talitha Koum Rescue Center.
I made a couple pillow cases to send along with my donation.
I found these bright springy prints at Hobby Lobby yesterday 30% off!  I used my old favorite pattern in a brochure from Conkerr Cancer.  I also decided to try covering the raw edges, kind of a French seam, inside the seam allowance, but had to go over it twice on the green/ pink.  I cut the lavender fabric 1/4" bigger.  It worked better, but I didn't have enough yellow (from my stash) to add.  Still really good practice for a really good cause.

These are beautiful and so fresh looking. I admire anyone who has the patience and skill to sew anything, at all, ever. Thanks for making the world a better place.

These are gorgeous. I just love the prints. I'm so jealous at your sewing skills. It's just never something I learned how to do. How sweet to send your talent and love someplace where it will be adored.

I love these. I need to check this out - I enjoy sewing and have left-overs from dresses I've sewn for my daughter. Thank you!
