Global Read-Aloud- Marty McGuire

 

After reading chapter three, today's prompt: Will Marty want to be the princess?

 The following friends are getting it!

No, because she liked to do boy stuff and she was surprised.

I do not think Marty would want to be the princess because she likes to hang with the boys.

She doesn't want to be a princess because she is a tomboy.

Three friends mentioned that Veronica Grace should be the princess.

Others?  Not so much.

 

They suggested several reasons why she would love to be princess.  She is pretty, she could dance, she is nice.  Hmm...
    We're building a graphic organizer to keep track of characters, settings and important events.  I've not read many chapter books with first-graders because I've always felt like there's too much to picture in your head and remember from day-to-day.  But, this is working out well!

I borrowed a non-fiction raccoon book to read before tomorrow's prompt: Would a raccoon make a good pet?  I'll keep you posted!
