give

Kristy at Hopeful Threads has the best ideas!  Her latest project is collecting bags and goodies for children removed from their homes placed into foster care.  This hit home earlier this month.  A little girl in our class one day- gone the next.
I tried to think of things I'd miss from home.  I packed up my latest tote with a towel, washcloth, soap, toothbrush, flashlight, pens and a notebook and a little bunny.  Everybody needs a little bunny.
Ready for the mail on Monday.

What a beautiful gift.

I am sure she will love it...especially the bunny rabbit. It is so difficult for a child to be taken from her home...and this act of kindness will be remembered always. Jackie http://familytrove.blogspot.com/

What a beautiful gesture. If only we never needed another....

This is a great idea! It reminds me of Operation Christmas Child a bit. Seems like a great thing to be a part of. The little one who gets your tote will love it!

I LOVE this, especially the bunny! I hope it comforts a little girl!

That is a great idea. I've always wondered why they don't try to keep the children in the same school rather than rip them from family AND friends.

What a wonderful idea. I'm with Marti, it's hard enough having to leave home, but I suppose there aren't always foster parents in the same district and depending upon the reason for removing the kids from the home, it might not be safe to let them go to the same school.
