make

This little quilt started a while back as a personal challenge to see how many different fabrics I could use before needing to repeat. The answer? Seventy-two! I learned my stash is quite heavy in the pink department. I added black and white borders, then put it aside to work on other projects.
I found the perfect rainbow ric-rac in my stash to add inside the black polka dot binding and pieced a colorful back.  Diagonal hand-quilted lines follow the layout of the colorful 2 1/2" squares. The back makes me just as happy as the front!
The free pattern is from a fun quilt-along Mimi Kicks Stash . There are several cute layout ideas.

I never thought about rick rack as an embellishment on a quilt. It's a great idea... looks great.
Congrats on your finish, and thanks for sharing it with us.

Isn't it funny how a trend develops when you start using fabric like that, like your pinks? It's a darling quilt and I also love the rickrack.
