November gratitude
Day 5: I'm thankful for a job I enjoy almost all the time.
Day 6: Where do I begin?
1. Outdoor playtime- especially nice surprise this late in the year
2. We barely made it inside before it started hailing. Two students new to our area (from Florida and Kansas) had never seen it, so we all went out to grab a piece.
3. Yearly Magic Show assembly
as if all this is not wonderful enough...
Last month, my class entered a Halloween writing contest. The top entries were posted Monday morning and alas, we were not on the list. I explained to my Principal that it was wonderful for the children to participate in the revision process (It's hard for six year-olds to believe that their first try is not perfect.) and that being honored with a special Facebook post by Susanna Hill herself (it's true!) was enough for me.
Fast forward to this afternoon during the Magic Show I checked Facebook (breaking school rules) and received the sweetest, secretive message...
Take your time. Read all the way to the bottom.
Picture me smiling, with happy tears the rest of the afternoon.
Is that the best news ever? Aren't people wonderful?

So glad we could cause happy tears :) Thanks for taking part and being the kind of teacher that gets kids excited about writing :)
