I've seen variations of this block several places, some with reverse applique, but here's my try:
Favorite brights from my stash (including Autism puzzle pieces and New York subway) traced circles and topstitched 1/4 inch from the edge. I cut away behind each circle to keep it from being too bulky.

Cut each square into fourths and played with them. . .
All together! Mismatched circles!This block was very fun to make. I'd like to make it again in solid brights or Halloween colors.
