share

My class is a little late joining the Global Read-aloud because of Fall break and finishing our first Magic Treehouse story, Dinosaurs Before Dark.  We have three chapters to go, but I shared the cover of Marty McGuire and asked the kiddos to predict what the story will be about.  Here are some ideas with spelling fixed:

A girl who lost her crown

Her crown is falling in the pond.  She is trying to get the frog.

A beautiful princess and a frog too

She is trying to get her frog in her canoe.

Her crown fell off while she was trying to get a frog.

She lost her crown at the lake.  She wanted to touch the frog.

She saw a frog and she wanted the frog.  She dropped her crown in the water.

I think it will be about a girl that lives in the creek.

Some of them are right on!  Anybody else reading along?

Welcome to the Global Read Aloud. Our class is participating for the first time this year in the picture book conversation of Eric Carle's work.

My kids are high schoolers and we're reading Out of My Mind, but we are loving the GRA just like you! :-)
