make

Took a short break from quilting during Wednesday's Snow Day- squeezed a sew-along into one day.  I made a Crafty Traveler's Tote!
After major snowed-in fabric store withdrawal, we made it to Huntington Tuesday.  I bought the lavender and gray polka dot (also my spring quilt's binding) and picked up the pottery pieces my family made on my birthday.
So pretty!
But, I digress...The tote is huge and has so many neat little details.  Lots of opportunities to add cuteness.  Inside and outside pockets with an easy band across the top and a pop of color on the handle.

I pieced the lining, pockets and top binding from my stash.
Since this was my first time using this pattern, I followed the directions exactly.  I'm used to boxed corners at the bottom of totes, but these side panels were easy once I tried it.  You should give this tutorial a try!
My pink binding fits this month's Pink Rainbow Challenge.  Go check out what everybody worked on this week.

I love this tote and the fabrics you used for the lining, trim and outside. These totes would make great Christmas presents.
