Jane learned to appreciate her pleasant home life in Happiness Hill. (Hill, G. L., 1932) The morning she left the vacation resort, she missed having honey dew melon, toast, hot rolls and fried brook trout.
John and Jane had soup, rolls and a baked apple during lunch at a tea room.
Jane's sister Betty Lou fixed roasted potatoes, ham, corn, bread, butter and applesauce for dinner before the family left for the beach cottage.
