make, make, make

...make it your ambition to lead a quiet life:
You should mind your own business and work with your hands.
  I Thessalonians 4:11 NIV

Here's how I kept my hands busy this week.  I wanted a grayish-blue denim shirt, and planned to make one, but miraculously found exactly the shirt last weekend, and only $12.  So, I whipped up this little purse using Monica's pattern.  She writes such clear instructions with nice pictures to follow.  The gray is the back of some blue denim, my favorite summery madras plaid with red straps to tie it all together.  You can see where I didn't catch the madras in the seam on the right, but since it's just for me, who cares?
I'm linking this up to the Weekend Show-off party at Ladybird Lane.  Go see what everybody else made this week!
This is the April block of Carrie's Tips and Tricks quilt-along.  She chose some really pretty 12-inch blocks for this project.
These black and white squares are for Rachel's Synchronized Squares quilt-along.  Most everybody is finished, but I'm loving working on this!  Here are some of my squares...
all cut up...

and put back together!

All nice projects. The blocks were a surprise. I was just thinking "how simple and effective" and whoops--they changed.

How fun, that halloween quilt block is Darling! I love it when people go the extra mile... and try to pay it forward when I can!
