make

The third border of Sunny's Stay-at-Home Robin was to include log cabins and possibly be set on point.  I started these a long time ago:
because somewhere in my folder of quilt pictures I plan to make one day there is a beautiful fall quilt using log cabins forming a star around a center.  But when I put these around my center:
they're just too chunky (clunky?) looking.  Made me a little sad.
But I like how the dark sides formed a border.  So instead, I broke the rule and. . .
added an 1-inch animal print border with pink cornerstones.  This makes me happy, because I love animal print:
my new Mickey ears.
Luke 16:15 NIV also makes me happy-
You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts.
Jesus was talking to the Pharisees about loving money, but I like to think when I speak without thinking first and make dumb mistakes, He knows my heart, not trying to be hurtful to others.

That's a beautiful center piece! Can't wait to see the entire quilt top! :)

Rules were made to be broken, and I think you made the right choice. With all the angles in your center, you're right about the log cabins being 'too much'. Maybe you'll be able to use them later? Please email me or comment on my blog when you get a chance.
